I have dreamed of being a mom for as long as I can remember. From a young age, I envisioned the joy of raising a child, nurturing them, and watching them grow. For us, having a baby is not just a wish—it’s a deep-seated desire that feels essential to who we are. We believe our family will truly be complete once we have a baby to call our own.

I was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) at 18, a hormonal disorder that affects my ability to conceive. PCOS is characterized by an imbalance in reproductive hormones, leading to symptoms such as irregular menstrual cycles and ovarian cysts. It often causes fertility challenges due to irregular ovulation or lack of ovulation altogether. We have been trying to conceive for a while, but the cost of fertility treatments for my PCOS is incredibly high, adding to the frustration and sadness of this journey. It’s a constant reminder of how close yet so far away our dream feels.

We have names picked out and plans laid, but there is still no little one to fill our home with laughter and love. Each day, we struggle to shift our perspective from “when we have a baby” to “if we have a baby.” The uncertainty weighs heavily on our hearts, reflecting the reality that many couples face on their journey to parenthood.
